Anil Murthy: "Albert Celades fully shares the Valencia CF philosophy"
Valencia CF president Anil Murthy was alongside Albert Celades for the presentation of the club's new coach, and spoke with the media about the Spaniard's appointment.
"Valencia CF should defend the club's philosophy of promoting our young talents that have been trained at the VCF Academy, and give these players the opportunity to compete at the highest levels. These players have grown with the club since they were children, and they represent our values. They are one of the cornerstones of a team that should balance the ambitious objectives that correspond with the club and a long term sustainable model that should be our stamp of identity," the president told the media.
"Albert Celades already knows many of our players, and has worked with several of them since they were very young. He also knows other young talents in Spain and Europe well. We believe that he also has experience at a high level -having coached the Spain Under-21s- of working with young players on their journey to the elite, fully sharing the Valencia CF philosophy. It is a demanding challenge, because Valencia CF have to be ambitious and need to win every game, but are also demanding in the long term -because sustainability and our academy is what is going to provide us with a place in the elite on a continuous basis.
"We have a tough, packed schedule ahead in the coming three weeks. Albert and his team have our complete support and trust to take Valencia CF to our short term and long term goals."
Before concluding his address, Murthy dedicated some words to Marcelino, the outgoing coach.
"I wish to thank Marcelino and his coaching staff for their work and their effort during the past two seasons, which have been intense and seen objectives reached. We wish him every success in his future personal and professional projects."
